Heather educates and advises employers on all aspects of employee relations and employment law, including compliance with state and federal laws, leaves of absence, discrimination, harassment, accommodations, discipline and discharge, wage and hour obligations, unfair competition and other issues that arise in the workplace. Heather also helps employers improve their workforce through employee trainings on respectful workplaces and management trainings on topics such as conflict management, discipline and discharge, employment law, recruiting, engagement, leadership and more. In addition to Heather’s employment guidance, her background includes nearly a decade of litigation experience as an attorney. Her prior experience includes litigating for a regional insurance company, handling business disputes and employment actions. Heather has represented clients in state and federal courts, before the Minnesota Department of Human Rights and other state commissions, Department of Employment and Economic Development (unemployment), Department of Commerce, Department of Labor and other agencies, which gives her a unique perspective when helping clients with their employment and business law needs.
