Katelyn Emerson, who has “taken the organ world by storm” (The Diapason), makes her Northrop debut on the historic Aeolian-Skinner pipe organ with a program of German, English and French organ music. Known for her technical facility and musicianship, Emerson garners acclaim from new listeners of classical music to audiences of colleagues and organ aficionados alike. Notes from the Director of Programming
Katelyn Emerson is a young and ascendant female organist who was recommended by the Northrop Organ Committee for her technical facility, promising career trajectory, and newness to Twin Cities audiences. Her program opens with Mozart and includes works by Bairstow, Karg-Elert and Reimann, as well as movements from Elgar, Widor, and Parker. While she’s here she will offer an organ masterclass and work with French students and faculty as well.
