Increasing Student Engagement through Movement, Exercise, and Play
Equity Alliance MN is proud to partner with Cornelius Rish amd HOPEducation Consulting for our May Lecture and Learn titled, How to Increase Student Engagement in Your Classroom Using Movement, Exercise, and Play. Movement and learning go hand in hand. There is even a strong connection between movement and speech? Movement also helps students process information! In this workshop, educators will learn how to incorporate the arts as well as other kinesthetic and interpersonal activities into their classrooms to increase student engagement and learning. Participants will learn movement and arts-related exercises that they can use right away in their classrooms. Participants will also receive additional resources that support that can assist them in incorporating movement into their instruction. Wear loose clothing and join us for this exciting Lecture and Learn class! Cornelius Rish is an award-winning educator who has 24 years of experience in education ranging from classroom teaching, coaching sports, directing plays, facilitating youth groups, creating and presenting at youth retreats as well as facilitating staff development and speaking at local and national conferences. In addition, Cornelius has expertise in Arts Integration, Education Equity, Social Justice, Service Learning, and Educational Leadership. As a facilitator, Cornelius is known to infuse the room with positive energy and for his ability to captivate audiences of all age groups.
