EDTALKS: IMMIGRANT VOICES
Join us for two powerful presentations on supporting students who are immigrants or refugees.
Salma Hussein, a school social worker at South High School, will talk about the power of strong relationships for student success and how she draws on her own experiences as an immigrant to support students and families from a wide variety of countries.
Tea Rozman Clark, the co-founder and executive director of Green Card Voices, will talk about storytelling as a tool for empowering and building empathy. Born in Yugoslavia, Tea has interviewed more than 400 immigrants from over 120 countries and is editor of the organization’s six volumes of compelling stories.
