Second Annual ‘Better Together’ million meal pack event at State Fair Grandstand
June 7 and 8 set to benefit three major Minnesota charities helping people
Feed My Starving Children, Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge and Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities seek 5,000 volunteers to pack food for starving children, fight drug addiction and homelessness and fill future needs locally and around the world
“Better Together,” a combined effort for three major Minnesota charities that help people here and across the world is calling for 5,000 volunteers to come to the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand on June 7 and 8 for a million-meal food packing and fundraising event.
Feed My Starving Children is partnering with Minnesota Adult & Teen Challenge and Union Gospel Mission Twin Cities on the first Friday and Saturday in June. These will support relief efforts for starving children around the world, as well as future work to fight drug addiction and homelessness in Minnesota.
Groups from businesses, churches, families and local community groups are encouraged to attend. The goal is to raise awareness and funds to be split equally among the three organizations. Slumberland Furniture is the presenting sponsor and additional sponsors are welcomed.
Volunteers are urged to signup via the link at fmsc.org/bettertogether. Friday’s event runs from 9 a.m. to 8:30 p.m., with three shifts available. Saturday offers four shifts between 8:30 a.m. and 6:30 p.m. The Grandstand is located at 1265 Snelling Avenue North in St. Paul. Parking is free.
Cost: Free parking and free event but this is a fundraiser
